University Heights (Regent Neighborhood), is one of Madison’s very first suburbs. Located close to UW-Madison, the neighborhood has attracted many professors and other business people. It is home to some of Madison’s most architecturally historic homes and is now home to a handful of local shops. The neighborhood is a pedestrian and bike-friendly area, with kids walking to and from school at Randall Elementary and West High School.

Hillington Green Park is a neighborhood gathering place, with kids playing in the summer and ice skating in the winter. The Southwest Commuter Bike Path and Campus Drive Bike Path connect the neighborhood with downtown Madison and other areas of the city’s west side, including Lake Mendota, which is less than a mile away.
