Maple Bluff is its own village within Madison city limits. Nestled along the shores of Lake Mendota on the northeast side of Madison, Maple Bluff is the epitome of lakeside living. It’s known for its stately homes and modern estates. Most of Maple Bluff’s traditional-style homes were custom built between 1920 and 1960. The name comes from its natural elements - a large bluff and mature maple trees that line the streets. Maple Bluff is the site of the historic Governor’s Mansion, the home of Wisconsin’s governor and their family.

The Maple Bluff Country Club is a go-to spot for golfers in the area. Its course is one of the oldest in the state. The club also offers swimming and racquet sports, hosts events throughout the year and has stunning views of the lake. Lake Mendota is a central feature - a great lake for boating, water sports or swimming on the shores of Maple Bluff Beach. Although Maple Bluff is its own tight-knit community, it is close to everything Madison has to offer, including downtown Madison, the airport, bike trails and parks.
