At The 608 Team, we believe in giving back to the community in every way we can, both financially in the form of donations, and in time, donating it to causes we hold near and dear.
The 608 Gives is our philanthropy division where all of our charitable giving stems from.
Dominic and I (Ellie) are board members of The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Carbone Cancer Center, members of the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin, and
active members in our local neighborhood associations.
Our team and our team members give to causes related to housing, healthcare, education, food security, and animal welfare throughout the year. We live here with you, and aim to give locally, in dollars and time, to help sustain our local economy.
The 608 Gives: UW Carbone Cancer Center
The UW Carbone Cancer Center has a permanent place in our hearts, and fighting
cancer is at the forefront of The 608 Team’s philanthropic efforts.
In September 2018, I (Ellie) was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. At age 25, I started feeling unusually tired. Month after month, the blood work showed that nothing was wrong. Finally, at age 27, a thyroid ultrasound showed that my lymph nodes were enlarged and the diagnosis followed shortly thereafter. I eventually finished six rounds (12 treatments) of chemotherapy, and was declared cancer free in April 2019.
The research and treatment provided by the UW Carbone Cancer Center undoubtedly helped save my life.
While our goal is to create an unmatched buying and selling experience in the
Madison area, our mission expands far beyond that. With every sale, we give back
to charities, such as the Cancer Center, right here in our community. We are forever
grateful for how the UW Carbone Cancer Center has impacted our lives, and we are
proud to support its groundbreaking treatment and research.
